Principal shares Islamophobic content during online class

Date: 23 May 2021

A complaint was registered after the Principal of a school in Kerala shared an extremely Islamophobic video in a student Whatsapp group. The video was shared in the online group of Class 10 students of Cherupushpam Convent School in Kottiyam. The video starts with the question of what Christians in Kerala would do if “Islamic terrorists” begin to hunt them. The video also insinuated that places like Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Syria and Qatar had been 100% Christian before, and had been converted to Islamic countries through invasions and genocides. The video also includes clips of people calling for jihad. It also alleges that techniques like “love jihad” would soon be replaced by active kidnapping of children. A complaint was later filed by a social activist in the area. The Principal was later transferred and the management stated that the video had been sent accidentally.
