Elderly Muslim man assaulted in Ghaziabad, forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram'

An elderly Muslim man was brutally thrashed by a group of people in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district and was allegedly forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' slogan. The incident took place in the town of Loni on June 5 when the elderly man was on his way to a mosque to offer prayers. Abdul Samad was allegedly kidnapped by miscreants who took him to an isolated place, assaulted him and forced him to chant 'Jai Shri Ram’ and 'Vande Mataram'. The attackers reportedly accused Samad of being a Pakistani spy. One of the attackers allegedly threatened the elderly man with a knife. The victim alleged that attackers cut off his beard and also showed him a video of other Muslims being attacked.






Infamous for ‘hate speech’ against Muslims, Karni Sena chief appointed BJP spokesperson

Days after making a hate speech in favour of those arrested in connection with the lynching of a Muslim man during a mahapanchayat held in Haryana state’s Nuh district, Karni Sena chief Surajpal Singh Amu has been appointed as BJP spokesperson for Haryana. On June 11, 2021, BJP Haryana president Om Prakash shared a list of his new media team on Twitter, which includes the name of Surajpal Singh Ammu. Ammu has been actively involved in hate speech against various individuals and communities particularly Muslims. In 2017, he had come to the limelight for announcing a reward for beheading actor Deepika Padukone over the controversy surrounding the film ‘Padmaavat’. Recently, he attended an event in support of men arrest on charges of killing Asif Khan, a gym trainer from Khalilpur village of Haryana’s Nuh district. Speaking at the event, he justified the killing of Muslims. “Can’t we even murder them?” Ammu asked in his speech.






Muslims avoiding Covid vaccination, says former Uttarakhand CM Rawat

SENIOR BJP leader and former Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said the Muslim community in the country is avoiding Covid vaccination as it has apprehensions and misconceptions about the vaccine. “The Muslim community in our country at present – I am deliberately taking name – is keeping away from vaccination. They still have hesitation, apprehensions and misconceptions,” said Rawat while speaking to reporters at an event on World Blood Donor Day in Rishikesh.






Sudarshan News Selectively Highlights Name Of Muslim Man Accused Of Tampering With COVID Test Kits

Sudarshan News tweeted a video on June 3 in which some people can be seen filling RT-PCR corona test kits without collecting samples. The channel claimed that ward boy 'Hassan' was throwing away the corona test kit without using it. Three people can be seen in the video, out of whom one is filling the test kit, the second person is writing the name on the tube of the test kit, and the third person is sitting behind the person filling the test kit. Sudarshan News, in its tweet, made suspicious remarks saying, "What is in Hassan's mind?". Three men can be seen in the tweeted video, but Sudarshan News highlighted the name of only one person, Hassan.





Nearly 100 Muslim families evicted from govt land in Assam, many call it 'anti-Muslim' drive

At least 70 families were evicted by the district administration of Hojai in Assam on June 6, following an order by the BJP-led state government to clear government land of encroachers. Nearly 500 Bengali-speaking Muslims were rendered homeless, leaving them with no option but to take shelter near a road. A similar drive on May 17 at Jamugurihat in North Assam's Sonitpur district evicted 25 families, all belonging to the same community. The district administration officials said they had illegally occupied government land and did not vacate it despite several warnings in the past.
