Decapitated Body Of Muslim Youth in Love with Hindu Girl Found

Date: 02 October 2021

Police opened investigations into the alleged murder of a Muslim youth after his dismembered body was found on a railway track at Khanapur railway station in Belagavi district on September 28.

24-year-old Arbaz Aftab Mulla’s family alleged that he was murdered by men associated with Hindu extremist outfit Ram Sena who had threatened him for his love affair with a Hindu girl.

The FIR lodged at the railway police station in Belagavi names three people as accused including the father of the girl, Maharaj and Birje.

Arbaz was getting threatening calls from Ram Sena members for the past few months, a complaint by the family said. A while back Arbaz and some members of the community met with them and reached a compromise that Arbaz and the girl will not remain in contact. Despite this, he continued getting threats from them,” Arbaz’s cousin Sameer told The Cognate.

“Arbaz received a similar call on 26 September and they threatened to kill him. Two days later, on 28th, he again received a call from the Ram Sena. His mother had warned him not to go alone but he still went,” Sameer said.

That evening Sameer received a call from the police who informed him that they had found a body. “The police first said it was suicide but we did not believe them because Arbaz was getting murder threats from Ram Sena,” Sameer said. “When we saw the body there was a rope tied around his hands. It was clear he was murdered”

UP govt chargesheet accuses imprisoned Kerala journalist of reporting “only on Muslims”

Date: 01 Octoebr 2021

Delhi-based journalist Siddique Kappan, who was arrested a year ago on charges of sedition while on his way to Hathras following the murder of a Dalit woman, did not write like a “responsible” journalist, “only and only reports to incite Muslims”, and also wrote to “sympathise with Maoists and Communists”, the UP Special Task Force (STF) is learnt to have stated in the chargesheet filed against him.

The 5,000-page chargesheet includes a case diary note, dated January 23, 2021, in which the investigating officer highlights portions from 36 articles written by Kappan for a Malayalam media house — on the Nizamuddin Markaz gathering after the Covid outbreak, anti-CAA protests, Northeast Delhi riots, the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the chargesheet against Sharjeel Imam who was jailed on sedition charges.

Referring to one of these articles “written during the CAA protests in AMU,” the note states: “In the writing, the Muslims have been portrayed as victims (who) were beaten up by police and were asked to go to Pakistan. It is evident from the writing that it has been done to incite Muslims.”

The note concludes: “These writings of Siddique Kappan, to a great extent, can be classified as communal. During riots, taking the name of a minority and talking about events related to them can incite sentiments. Responsible journalists do not do such communal reporting. Kappan only and only reports to incite Muslims, which is a hidden agenda of PFI (Popular Front of India). Some stories were written to sympathise with Maoists and Communists.”

Old case of Muslim woman’s ‘honour’ killing revived as Hindu girl killed in ‘love Jihad’

Date: 30 September 2021

A case of ‘honour’ killing in 2018 was shared on social media with false claims that a Hindu woman was murdered as a result of ‘love jihad’. The murdered woman shown in the photo hailed from the Muslim community. This 2018 incident has nothing to do with an interfaith marriage that was held in October 2019. The wedding card is unrelated to the incident. Furthermore, Telugu actress Summiyya Mohammed’s picture was misused to claim she was the Hindu woman who succumbed to ‘love jihad’.

Muslims must bow to Indian culture as Ram, Krishna, Shiva were their ancestors: UP minister

Date: 24 September 2021

Uttar Pradesh minister Anand Swaroop Shukla has said that lord Ram, Krishna, and Shiva were the ancestors of Indian Muslims and they should bow to the land and culture of India.

The minister of state for parliamentary affairs also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have defeated the mindset which intended to create an Islamic State in the country by raising the flag of Hindutva and Indian culture .

Presenting the account of Adityanath government’s work during the last four-and-a-half-years before the media, Shukla said: The ancestors of the Muslims of India are lord Ram, Krishna and Shankar (Shiva). They do not need to see the land of Kaaba. These people should bow to the land and culture of India.

After Syria and Afghanistan, some people from different countries want to make the world an Islamic State. Some in India have this mindset too. But, the Modi and Adityanath governments at the Centre and state have raised the flag of Hindutva and “Indian culture” in the country and defeated this mindset, Shukla said.
